Wedding Stubby Idea

Here is just another idea for a wedding stubby holder.

Nice and a little retro, it prints up well and looks really nice in Purple or even gold as we originally designed.

The best design we find have a variation of image around the stubby holder, plain colours are too bland and then too much pattern and they are frightful.

Colours of Stubby Holders

So while we were doing some changes to our website i had this below view of some of our stubby holders and thought that it was a nice cross section of them. I then thought that we get a lot of people asking what a good colour would be. So i decided to show a few colour combinations that I think work. This is from a website called Colour schemes, and could be great starting point for you, especially if your designing your wedding stubby holders.

Wedding Stubby Background

More people are having beach weddings and so are calling for stubby holders to match. The key is to have a great photo of the beach to put your names and date on for the stubby holders.

Here is an example but one that would print up well on a  wedding stubby holder.

More Vintage Tattoo Stubby Holders

Because we loved the other design so much we have decided to do a range of vintage tattoo stubby holder designs. Very cool and such a nice twist on wedding stubby idea.

Tattoo Wedding Stubby

This has to be the best design for a while. We have taken the names off but the vintage tattoo style design with old paper. Wish I had these for my wedding stubby holders.

Stubby Quality

The quality of a stubby holder, the materials and also where they come from should be 1 of the main things that people chose 1 supplier over another. This is assuming that people already are looking for a decent price. But what I have found that some claim to be able to match the price on stubby holders when their product is inferior and also from overseas. Your really at the mercy of your own research, so make sure that if you want a quality stubby holder. 1. you get a sample, 2. make sure they colour match your artwork.

Vintage Stubby Holders

With the personalisation of weddings becoming more and more create the use of the stubby holder can help in this personalisation. If its William Morris wall paper or sepia tone image of the married couple in a field with 70s clothing, the stubby can be used to show a variety of graphic styles and tie in perfectly with your wedding theme.

The ability to personalise each order has opened up the scope for this creativity, and while you might have thought that having 'to have and to hold and to keep your beer cold' on a black stubby holder with white writing was a good idea, with limitless potential, why use a generic design, why not push the stubby holder manufacturer to come up with something a bit different.

Slim Stubby Holders

Slim stubby holders are very common in summer. Most premium beers have changed the size of their bottles. From the old 375ml to 320ml. This has resulted in the old stubby holder being too wide and thus slipping off your drink. Next time you order some stubby holders, consider splitting the order half normal size and half slim. Most companies offer this and only charge the unit cost of the total

Wine Coolers

So you don't drink beer then why not try a wine cooler. Made from the same neoprene, sublimation printed and sewn with a zip so you can keep your nice vintage wine the right temperature until you drink it.

Overlocked Stubby Holders

Need I say more than this image. Awesome effect, it just gives that bit more polish to the ever growing quality of the wedding stubby holder

Neoprene Stubby Holders

Why Neoprene. Because of its chemical stability it has a very good resistance to heat. This is why Neoprene, or wetsuit rubber, is the best insulator for stubby holders, keeps your drink cool while your hand warm.

Stubby Holder Quotes

Design is everything in the world of promotional items, so having a well designed Stubby Holder is paramount, but the quote on them can be equally important.

Visual pleasure, be it words or graphics, are what make a stubby holder. From funny quotes to enlightened images of a holiday spots. This is what makes your stubby holder special. So the next time you get one done, think about having something different put on there. "Final Fling Before the Ring" for a Hens night, or something that holds true to you.

Stubby Holders are always about remembering the funny side of the occasion.

Other Uses of a Stubby Holder

Stubby holders are not only one of the most prized possessions of the everyday aussie bloke but they do hold a multi function purpose amongst their owners. To hold a beer is the obvious use, the one it was designed for but what about using them for oven mitts? coin holder or even a dog chew toy. I own quite a few and the amount of hours I have seen used up entertain kids with stubby holders has made my parenting job easier. You need only watch a child with a stubby holder and you will see the ingenuity with which they can put it to use. The stubby often acts a throwing device but also you can stack them and have a game of knock-em-downs. So is the ability to play with them the deciding factor as to why its one of the best innovations? No, its the primary use.

Socialising and drinking are an Australian icon, because of this the humble stubby holder has also become part of this picture. Through creativity we have seen the space on the outside evolve into the mobile billboard, but one not only for a month but the life of the stubby. Alcohol companies first saw this as a way to brand their beer. Not only that but if someone had their logo on someone else's beer, it achieve the role of ambush marketing. This soon turned into the whos who of stubby holders with each beer drinking bloke having a shed full of coolers each man know which was their favourite, which sat pride of place on the shelf.

Pretty soon it was other companies who saw the value and lifeline of the stubby holder. Big business would use them as promotional items to their staff, and new customers, small businesses saw them as a different type of business card, and pretty soon everyone had their logo on a stubbie.

Where was the stubby to go next. With social events being the main drinking location and thus the obvious place for the stubby. Someone soon got the idea to have them personalised for their wedding. This took hold and now 1 in 10 weddings have stubby holders for each guest to help them remember the big day. Witht he lifeline of the cooler being so long, anyone who took a stubbie home would remember your wedding when they slipped a drink into your cooler.

So where to for the stubby holder. Will technology take hold of it? will the stubby get overtaken by another device or idea. Im not sure, the only thing is certain that the stubby has carved itself a piece of Australian history. Even if it does end up in a museum in the future, it will be long remembered for the simplicity of keeping your drink cool.

Kinds of Stubby Holder

There are many different kinds of stubbies but I want to clear a few things up. The main types floating around at the moment are.

• Sublimation Printed stubby holder - Full colour
• Screen Printed Stubby Holder - You pay for each colour
• Heat transfer Stubby Holder - full colour but not a long life as the transfer wears off.

based on these three basic styles of getting your design onto the wetsuit rubber, there are the variations of cut or shape. Stubby Holders come in various shapes.

• Normal - for standard size stubby or can
• Slim - for boutique beer or alcopop
• Zipper - with a zip all the way to the top like a jacket
• Wraparound - with velcro or other method or attaching a flat piece of rubber together.

all of these come at different prices and have different life times. The best thing to do is really understand what you want to use your stubby holder for and how long you want it to last.

a wrap around stubby with a heat transfer design might be great for a promotional item at a sports giveaway, cheap and short life, but if you want a stubby that lasts, you need to go for something more like a traditional stitched and glued sublimation printed stubby holder. The design will last as long as the rubber and it wont fall apart after a few uses.

so the next time you want to get some stubby holders, think about the end use you want them for.

Country Wedding Stubby

SO it might not be the city style wedding your looking for. Lots of people in the country want stubby holders as their wedding bombonieres and so they require images thats suit that environment.

Rolling hills, wheat fields, or rusted corrugated iron fences, all give that country impression.

below are a few images we have seen used for wedding stubby holders

Wedding Stubby Bliss

I loved this illustration for a Wedding Stubby, both hold the key to the others captivity. Im not sure all people think of that way as both people can open up the hearts of the other.

The Day I lost my stubby Holder

Sports Clubs - Personalisation

Sports clubs do tend to us the humble stubby holder as a promo item. The stubby can be a good way of team building with the nickname of each player on each stubby holder.

Personalization is a common thing with people wanting the names of all their teams on the stubby, or just numbers on the back. This also helps when people are drinking with all the same design, you can tell which drink is your by the number/name on the stubby holder.

History of Stubby Holders

See Wikipedia for the full history, but here is a brief summary.

It began as a marketing tool. The primary use of a beer koozie/cooler is to keep one's hand warm while keeping the beer cold. They are a very good business card tool, as while someone might lose your business card, the idea of having a function to the stubby means people are inclined to keep them and use them, giving more life to your logo and business on the outside. (or to remember the big bucks night your mate had!)

Quality Stubby Holders

The Quality of a Stubby Holder is all based on the way its made. Stitching is part of this with some companies choosing to glue the seams while others prefer to stitch, and then some use an adhesive tab. In short, most people want their stubby holder to last as long as possible, so crappy wraparound stubbies are pointless, glues seams last a while but stitched seam to last longest. Here is a link to a stubby holder provider who uses stitched seams.

What are stubby holders made of?

Stubby holders are traditionally made from Wetsuit Rubber, Neoprene. This can be screen printed onto or also heat sublimated onto. They come in 5mm and 3mm types but 5mm is the best for your hand and drink. Stubby holders also come in a range of sizes, they are now made for wine bottles, slim premium drinks like Corona or Smirnoff, the list is endless.

Why Stubby Holders?

Why not? In Australia they are the most important thing for a night out. In winter a stubby holder keep your hand warm and in summer it keeps your drink cool. So they Why for a Wedding? Well weddings are traditionally the most social event. Stubby holders as a gift help people remember the event and are also something people will use again and again.... unlike sugar almonds.

So think about it for your wedding, they are cheap, can be customised to your wedding theme and now they can be personalised as well, so there is not need for place cards.... customised stubby holders will do the trick.

Checkout Soupcan Stubby Holders, they offer all of these services.

Wedding Stubby Holders

I have found that despite the classy theme most people want for their weddings, most like to have a truly Australian item like the stubby holder as their gift. Rightly so, as its a functional item that people will use well after the day of their wedding.

This blog is dedicated to the humble stubby holder and all the dodgy and cool designs there are out there.... especially the classy wedding stubby holder.
